Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands – Hiking & Tea

Soooo…unfortunately I am sick again.
I have a fucking cold and it is raining as hell outside…
So what to do? Quick decision: I am going to do the toughest hiking track in the Cameron Highlands (of course no guide) and then go to the tea fields…
Go go go…

On the way to the actual mountain I went by one of the popular strawberry farms in this area…

It was a good destination to hide from the severe rain outside..
I was still wondering whether I should do the hiking track, as I already have a cold :/

No matter what…I just went on.

Entering the forest at foot of the mountain the track seemed to disappear sometimes..

Two guys joined (Tom from England and Florian form Germany) on my hiking tour, so there was no way back anymore. The track itself was sometimes combined with climbing since it was so steep.

Nevertheless, we made it to the top in 2-3 hours. At the top there is a TV tower and an actual street that goes down from that point.
As we went down, we came by the Mossy Forest..another highlight in the Cameron Highlands…

However, the best part were the tea fields all the way down back to the civilization..but  first we stopped by the mossy forest..

The “Camerons” is one of the few places in Malaysia that serves as a habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna. There are more than 700 species of plants that grow here. The vegetation changes as one ascends the mountain. The ward is known for its tea growing, vegetable farms and flower nurseries. Its woodlands form the prevailing natural ecosystem within and around the prefecture.

We made it….and guess what, I am even more sick right now :/

next up on the road…back in KL
